Weekend!

Hi! I'm sneaking in a post this morning. Everyone woke up at 6:30 this morning and when I say everyone, I mean you-know-who woke everyone up at 6:30. Anyway, oh course it is 8:30 now and those two are back asleep and I am still awake. Sheesh. I have a million things to do, but decided to play on the internet. Brilliant.

Today we are hosting my MIL's bday party. So I need to clean the house, pick up rice from the Mexican market and make 2 different batches of enchiladas! Well, actually one is made already, I just need to heat it up. I'm making traditional ground beef red enchiladas today, but I made Martha Stewart's chicken in creamy green sauce enchiladas last night. They are fabulous and everyone will think you're a great cook if you make them.

Yesterday was my Grandma's 95th bday party. Can you believe that?! My grandma could barely see as it was, but my mom told me she had a mini stroke last weekend and now has lost all her vision. That just breaks my heart. She was able to feel baby J's leg and could tell how big he was getting. I really hope she is able to get some of her vision back.

Friday we went to movie in the park night with some friends. Everyone could tell I was the newest mom because I agreed to let the kids get inflatable hammers... :)

I'm going to **try* and fit in a trip to Sports Chalet today because I decided my heels hurt so much because I need new workout shoes. I am jumping up and down on stone and my shoes are like 5 years old.

Alright, I'm outta here..... Oh HAPPY BDAY MANDY! (Today is my best friends bday. We have been best friends since we were 9 and now live just a handful of blocks away) :)

Weekend

Yesterday we traveled down to San Diego to hang out with some friends that are moving to Philadelphia this summer. We dropped John off at my folks and went downtown (Gaslamp) to check into our hotel room. We stayed at the Andaz (formerly the Ivy). It was a very modern, cool, hipster, wine bar, night club, rooftop bar, cool guy hotel. Honestly, it was great, but John and I realized that we are just not those people.

We left the hotel and met Brian & Tina for some beers, margaritas, chips & salsa. Hung out for a couple of hours & then went back to get ready for our fabulous dinner. We had reservations for 6 at George's in La Jolla. It is an amazing restaurant. It has mouth watering food. We had drinks, steak dinners, wine and sampled ALL the desserts! Here is the view from our table:

It was awesome! We were all pretty full after dinner. 4 of us stopped by a friends house to say hi, but we were back at the hotel by midnight. ((Perfect, in my book))

When we got back to the hotel - it was popping! They asked us again if we wanted our VIP passes to the nightclub. We declined. The music was loud. You could hear it from our room. People were everywhere. Guys with tight shirts and too much cologne, girls in 5 inch heels & mini skirts, loud, super drunk people. I told John, "that is just so not my scene anymore." That was never John's scene - thankfully! Anyway, we secretly laughed and spied on some of the people.

We had a great time together and we both missed the little guy terribly. We picked him up from Nana & Papa's around 10ish and headed home. Here is a little video of him giving "5".

Weekend

Our weekend was pretty amazing. We didn't do anything crazy, but it was just perfect.

Friday night after the baby went down, I had a couple Trader Jose Lights with the boys and then watched Black Swan. (Trader Jose's are Trader Joe's version of Coronas and Black Swan was weird. I think I'm still deciding about it... I think?)

Saturday we went to Hobby People. John's dad used to go there all the time because he would need miniature planes, helicopters, etc.. He said his dad would always buy him a toy when they would go. Munchkin loved the hobby shop and all the planes hanging from the ceiling. We bought John a Toy Story kite. Then we went to Nick's for lunch - YUM! The weather was so perfect that we played outside all day long. Now that the baby is older it's much more fun for John to take Baby J out on the tractor or riding around in the Kabota or even hanging in the barn. Saturday night we made a big spaghetti dinner and ate with friends. The baby ate tons, loved garlic bread & then desperately needed a bath. He was so dirty from being outside all day and then topped with spaghetti! After he went down John went out in the barn for a bit and I had a glass of wine with some sea salt chocolate - so good! Oh, and I made a t-shirt necklace that I saw on this blog - http://muchomuchobuenobueno.blogspot.com/2010/05/diy-layered-necklace-thingy.html

Sunday we went to Target in the morning and then home. In between lunch and naps the baby was outside with dad so I could get stuff done inside. In the afternoon I took Baby J on a walk and then Jefff & Shannon came over with the kids. It is so cute to watch John with Slade. They are both one of the boys. Shannon, Iylla and I relaxed and watched ALL the boys play with RC cars in the dirt.

Oh and I got John a Japanese Maple for our anniversary. I'll have to take some pics of it. I hope you had a great weekend too!

Weekend

I love 3 day weekends. Right now it is Sunday night and we've already done so much. Yesterday morning we drove down to San Diego to visit with my folks and friends. We took the baby to OB (Ocean Beach) for a bit and then Heather & I went to Claire's house to have a girls night. The baby had his 2nd overnight with my parents (and did great). We had about 8 or 9 girlfriends meet at this bar called El Camino http://www.elcaminosd.com/liphoto.html. It was such a cool bar and we had a blast!! I was exhausted this morning, but lucky for me when I got to my parents it was time for the LJ's first nap. Him and I napped for 2 hours together!!! Rad.

Pumpkin Patch!

We had a great weekend and to top it off... it's not over! I have Monday & Tuesday off! Hooray! Saturday we had amazing weather. It was clear, warm & raining. Sunday we started the day with macadamia nut pancakes. John made them for us and they were delicious! The last time we had them was in Hawaii. ((side note: Saturday John said we needed to take a family trip there again = awesome)) Then we took the baby to the pumpkin patch. This cool pumpkin patch is at the end of our street!!

((2 more side notes - 1. John is showing me the pumpkin butt crack. 2. that same picture confirms I have green/MURKY hair color! yuck!))
