My Babies

Once again I was reminded that I don't have a baby book for either of my kids.  All I have is this blog, their pediatrician height/weight records and note's I keep in my iPhone.

Time is going by too fast and I can't remember all the wonderful, hilarious things that these two are doing so I MUST blog about it.

Jake is 16 months now.  He is happy, short tempered, adventurous, a climber, sweet as can be and a man of few words. ;)  So far we have "bye-bye", "gah!" (aka GO),  "Ma" (aka Mom maybe?) and "no".

He sleeps good (I just jinxed it), eats GREAT, and this week is trying to jump.  Jump off his toy motorcycle and jump off the couch!  Oh brother!

John is 3 and a half now and I forget this all the time.  Most of the time he seems like a 6 year old until he totally crumbles because I did something terrible like give him a string cheese instead of "flat" cheese!?!!!  Then I am reminded that this little guy is 3.

He hates sleep and has an incredible vocabulary.  He tells me funny stories all the time.

They both make my heart so very happy and grateful.

Starting Off Slow

I find myself searching my own archives to find out what John's stats and milestones were so I can compare them to Jake's.  Yesterday it dawned on me that I won't have any record of Jakey-boy's stats if I don't blog about them or keep a baby book.  And since the last time I blogged was JULY and I don't have a baby book things aren't looking to promising?!!?

Jake will be 8 months next week.  He is sitting up on his own and really trying to move, but not yet crawling.  He is super happy and mellow.  He is using the walker, mostly backwards, but he is slowly getting it.  Loves to jibber-jabber and loves to eat!

I think he is teething again.  The drool factor is a little out of control right now.  I'm not sure how much he weighs, but he is wearing 12 to 18 month clothes.  He's pretty huge.  Also, I think I pinched a nerve in my neck yesterday from lifting this heavy weight.  I'm not even going to talk about sleeping in fear that I will jinx something...

He loves his big brother.  He'll just stare and laugh at whatever John is doing.  When he does get upset John runs over and sings Old McDonald to him.  Super sweet!

Both kids have had some sort of sniffle or cough since November.  Kind of a bummer, but the Pedi says that is what happens during cold and flu season.  Especially since John is in school.

John is saying so many funny things I can't even keep track.  I'm going to try to write them down so I remember.  John will be 3 in February and I can't even believe it.  When most of our friends are just having their first kid it sorta blows my mind that we already have 2 and one is about to be 3!!  I'm pretty excited for his birthday.  The kid loves a birthday and loves to sing happy birthday.

Type A/Type B

I don't know what is going on, but I am in nesting mode again.  I think part of me wants to have everything organized before I go back to work.  I started the other day with my bathroom and with maternity clothes.  Check out my bathroom drawer...  I may be turning into more of a type A personality.  Uh-oh..

Totally Random

This is a random post b/c that is what happens when you blog 4 times a year, right??  Jake had his two month doctor appt. 2 weeks ago and was 13 lbs. 6 oz.  He is 2 pounds heavier than John was at that age.  So far he is a really good baby (I hope I didn't just jinx it).  He has started smiling and he coo's and laughs at us.  He is sleeping in good chunks of time and is only really upset if he is hungry, too hot or needs a diaper change.

Jake seems to like a pacifier and the swing (2 things John did not like).  The pacifier is nice b/c it buys you some time if you are almost home and the little dude is hungry and starts yelling.  I find time going by so fast w/ Jake.  He is almost 3 months.  That is crazy.  After John was born I checked the milestone chart to make sure he was always doing what was "normal", but I find my self not wanting to rush Jake.  I want him to be a newborn/baby for as long as possible.  I'm sure that is because he is our last.

John is almost 2 and a half now and is saying the funniest things.

1)  Buzz Wiper (aka Buzz Lightyear) is his buddy and he flies him around saying "I come in peace!"
2)  Everything now is "No way".  John it's time for a bath (me talking).  "No way mom".
3) "Shot".  When he is frustrated he says "Oh Shot!"  I know what you're thinking... I'm hoping this is "Oh shoot" and not "Oh Shit".
4)  My mom taught him to say "I'm busy" so now when I ask him to do something he says "I'm busy mom".  Sweet.

I know he has said a lot of other funny things, but I forget to write them down.  He is sleeping in his big boy room no problem, but is fighting bedtime.  He wants to stay up late w/ everyone.  He has also used his potty 3 times!  He would go at school no problem, but was not as interested at home.  We are bribing him w/ toys when he goes (we are not above bribery in this house).
